As a kid, I watched those races captivated by the speed and spectacle, but also by the way motorsports brought people together. Later, once I started working and could afford it, I made the pilgrimage to Interlagos to experience the Brazilian Grand Prix live. Often, I took my father with me. Together we stood among the crowd, feeling the roar of the racecars storming past, watching legends like Ayrton Senna and Rubens Barrichello race in the early 1990s. Those moments weren’t just about racing. They were about connection.

 

Beyond Formula 1, my father brought me to racetracks where he supported an open-wheel racing team chasing tenths of a second. He took me into garages and the homes of dedicated collectors who trusted him with their cars, and I watched as machines that seemed untouchable were restored, tuned, and respected. One afternoon, during a private concours, I helped move a lineup of Jaguars onto a lawn, my hands shaking as a seventeen-year-old driving a right-hand-drive XJ6 for the first time. That moment wasn’t just a memory, it was an ignition. It sparked a lifelong connection to motorsports, not just the speed, but the craftsmanship, the discipline, the stories machines carry, and the way racing creates community. Project ST1 is the continuation of that legacy.
